‘On behalf of the board of Directors of The Citizens Foundation, I want to say thank you to Ali Zafar for being a part of our mission to create an educated Pakistan. Ali has been an enthusiastic supporter of TCF’s ‘141 Schools for Peace’ – an initiative to build a school in the memory of each of the innocent lives lost in the horrific attack on a Peshawar school in December 2014.
Thanks to an incredible outpouring of support from all over the world, 48 TCF school units as part of the 141 Schools for Peace campaign are operational today. While a number of donors generously committed to building an entire school, helpful contributions from all other donors has been used for the construction of a new primary school in Mansehra, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa called the ‘141 School for Peace Campus’.
The Peshawar tragedy will be etched in our collective memory, as a reminder of the destructive power of ignorance and intolerance. We are confident that the 141 Schools for Peace we build together will stand as a lasting symbol of hope, resilience and our shared resolve to educate all the children of Pakistan.’
